What are Chakras?

The word chakra in Sanskrit means ‘wheel or circle.’ Each chakra represents an astral energy center along the spine starting at its base and up to the crown of the head. The concept of chakras was born over 1,000 years ago through Hinduism and Buddhism spiritual traditions. Since then, other cultures and societies around the world have embraced chakras.

When chakras are balanced, the body and mind become harmonious. However, chakras may become overactive or blocked. One may try yoga, reiki, meditation, aromatherapy, utilizing chakra stones, crystals, reading or saying daily positive affirmations to help restore and balance the chakras.

7 Chakras:

  4. Heart Chakra (Anahata): Located in the center of the chest, it represents love, compassion, and connection. It balances giving and receiving love.
  5. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha): Positioned at the throat, it’s associated with communication and self-expression. It helps convey thoughts and feelings authentically.
